Lectionaries

This original stackable lectionary developed sympathetically from a design process initiated three years earlier. Bespoke construction provides for all dimensional requirements to be incorporated when consulting with the church or with architects.

In this project the stall and lectionary widths had to accomodate all the choristers and still be capable of stacking in the storage space available. The heights were determined after experimenting with an adjustable model. The finish required is also very important as this furniture must serve for many years without the expectation of regular maintenance. Sealed and waxed would normally be preferred to best complement the existing furniture though a liming wax is also attractive and traditional.
